Derivation

I'm reasonably sure that the intended derivation of the fictional word "bellyfeel" was that in a loyal citizen, gut instinct - a "feeling" in the "belly" - should support all pronouncements of the Party. The perfect Party member would be one who internalizes Party doctrine to such an extent that he bellyfeels it.

I'll happily bow to anyone who has a 1984 chapter-and-verse citation for the dog-belly thing though. --Khaighle 07:12, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply
