captains tried/cashiered
The list given in the footnote disagrees with that in Clowes, who gives the following eleven:
- Burrish - cashiered
- Williams - reduced to half pay
- Ambrose - cashiered (later restored to rank)
- Dilkes - dismissed from his ship
- Frogmore - deceased before trial
- Norris - retired (did not return to England for trial)
- Pett - acquitted
- Sclater - acquitted
- West - cashiered (later restored to rank)
- Cooper - cashiered (later restored to rank)
- Lloyd - cashiered (later restored to rank)
(additionally the officers of Dorsetshire were court-martialled en bloc, and acquitted) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.1.157.137 (talk • contribs) 23:01, 22 February 2016
