The article about the battle for Chapultepec states that Mexico City was defended by "the impreganble fortress of Chapultepec". In fact Chapultepec Castle is hardly a fortress and at the time of the war it served as the Military College so most of the defenders inside were young cadets. The structure of the castle itself was not designed for battle but as a residence. I will look further into this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GLopez78 (talkcontribs) 01:24, 1 April 2005 (UTC)Reply

Battle for Mexico CityBattle of Mexico CityBattle of Mexico City – There is no page with the title "Battle of Mexico City" and this would be more appropriate. Roastedturkey (talk) 23:37, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Capitalisation of "battle" in "battle for Mexico City"

The initial letter of the title is only capitalised in running text if it would normally be capitalised. Per MOS:CAPS: Template:Tq Per MOS:CAPS, the burden is to show that capitalisation is necessary in accordance with the criteria of MOS:CAPS. Looking sources here and here, it appears to fall well short of the high threshold set by MOS:CAPS. Cinderella157 (talk) 01:43, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's not a "high threshhold". It's just iteration of WP:COMMON and avoidance of WP:FRINGE.
If there was a battle around Mexico City, that's how it should be treated. If there was a Battle of Mexico City (as the article's existence seems to heavily imply) it should be capitalized properly and consistently. If your sources show that this battle has a different name, that's fine but that's something to discuss in a move request, not a complaint about (mis)capitalization. — LlywelynII 06:52, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mexico City Campaign

currently links here but actually refers (per the infobox) to a larger section of the war including the mess around Veracruz. It should be shunted to sth else or the infobox should be corrected. — LlywelynII 06:52, 5 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
