Capitol Records, not Capital Records

I tried to edit the text for the link in the introductory paragraph, but the html has Capitol spelled correctly. I would expect that the link itself should reflect the correct spelling and not reinforce the incorrect spelling of Capitol Records. Merle Haggard and Wynn Stewart

I think it would be appropriate to add a Merle Haggard and Wynn Stewart since they were also pioneers of the "Bakersfield Sound"

Re. citations

I agree with the previous comment that there are too many "citations needed" scattered throughout. It's ridiculous. But aside from that, I ask, why does a statement like:

'the lyrics of the very Bakersfield-sounding Far Away Eyes, which begins: "I was driving home early Sunday morning, through Bakersfield ..."'

need a citation? Duhh? That's just stupid. Just go listen to the Stones song. Does there have to be a footnote saying: 'Stones, Rolling, c.1978, albumn "Some Girls", publisher: bla bla bla'? Just go purchase the CD. If you don't know it's "Some Girls", you can google it. If no one comments on my comments, I will go and modify the article myself.

I also wonder why the article does not mention the Dwight Yoakum and Buck Owens cover of "The Streets of Bakersfield". I will fix that.Worldrimroamer (talk) 03:49, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Others who did not continue, but had some nice hits in the area?

I just came across this article and wondered why Al Hendrix was not mentioned in it. I am not from Bakersfield or anywhere near it, but I came across this sound having obtained CDs "The other side of Bakersfield" Vol. 1 and 2! There are probably some more people mentioned there and who are also listed here, but apart from Buck Owens and Merl Haggard, I could only find songs of Al Hendrix on the Internet ("Monkey Bite", "Rhonda Lee", "Jumpin Johnny" and "Young and Wild"). So that justifies him being mentioned here, although I thought it would be worth while mentioning the others on those CDs too, because all the songs on there are nice tunes!
