Script error: No such module "Banner shell". I'm not sure that this should be merged with Arrest, as someone apparently suggested. I'd suggest putting a link to this article on the Arrest page (under "See Also"), though. Any other opinions? I'll wait a few days and then just change this if nobody objects. The word "arrest" is a generic term applicable worldwide. The Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 is UK-based and not necessarily relevant. It can be mentioned in context. Patrickcorliss 11:56, 25 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Impending withdrawal

As of 1 January 2006 the term ceases to have any meaning as all offences become arrestable. I suppose this page will then just be a historical description of the term that was in use 1984 to 2005. Sapient 15:29, 6 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I've updated it accordingly now that the term is no longer in use. Sapient 16:57, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've added an update explaining what could cause arrest now under PACE 82.34.67.156 (talk) 18:47, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
