Proposed merger

The proposal to merge the Arcadia High School (Arcadia, California) article into this one has been around since January, with no comments made. I suspect a random click-by templating took place. The Arcadia High School article doesn't have a merge template, so the proposal was set up wrong to begin with. I'm removing the template from this article. If the editor who placed it here is serious about this unconventional merge (I can find no other California high school articles which have been merged into thier city's articles), then that editor can make the proposal again, with merge templates at both articles and relevant remarks on both discussion pages. I go to school with Joey Ma he was never on Phil of the Future and made fake wikipedia entries to gain popularity around school. In reality he is a pot smoker trying to become an actor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.123.254.47 (talk) 03:49, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rancho "Santa Anita" name origin and history.

In the book The Rancho's, By Helen Bauer, it is noted that the original rancho was owned by San Gabriel Mission, Major Domo... a form of Mayor, Claudio Lopez. The rancho was named after 'a cousin' named, "Anita Cota". Mrs. Lopez was a member of "The Cota Family". Whatever the case, it was later owned or ran around 1839 by a scotsman named Hugo Reid, who was later killed or murdered. The land past on briefly to other owners, but would be aquired by Mr. Lucky Baldwin. A copy of Helen Bauer's published book is in the research library of "The Arcadia Historical Society & Museum", and a signed 1st. Edition in the research archives of The Los Pobladores 200 organization.

Arcadia Schools

Changed "Arcadia has excellent public schools" to "Arcadia is reputed to have excellent public schools." The first is clearly not encyclopedic, as well as needing some kind of objective statistics to back it up; the second is imperfect, but an improvement.John ISEM (talk) 09:02, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I just deleted the section about schools. I welcome someone to rewrite it with some kind of objective statistics backing up the "excellence" of Arcadia schools, and more encyclopedic language.John ISEM (talk) 09:08, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Birthplace/Childhood home of Phil Hendrie (originally removed)

Arcadia has celebrated its ethnoracial diversity, from Chinese to Mexican to Canadian Americans, one of them is radio personality Phil Hendrie born to Canadian-born parents in Arcadia, has once said on his radio program jokingly referred to Arcadia "It is Little Canada taken over by the Chinese before the Mexicans get it".
