New image

Would anybody object if I replaced the example image with this image?

Of course, there's nothing wrong with the current image, but I think this one does a better job of illustrating the abilities of the program. And frankly, it's prettier.

Perhaps a screenshot would be appropriate as well?

Other uses

Term "apophysis" has much more important and older meanings. It's used in paleontology and structural geology. Siim 09:16, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

I would agree, once we have gathered enough information to start articles on the other (or at least AN other) topics. Also, I propose that the new article name be Apophysis (software) instead of Apophysis (program) to resolve potential ambiguities. ~ Oni Lukos _ct 21:24, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, i've added it. And another one. They are pretty big and high quality. I think it show well that Apophysis can do greats things. The last image has taken 2 hours 56 minutes 46.42 seconds at quality 4000 oversampling 8.... TulipVorlax 03:36, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Can I insert info on...

Actually...

If I remember correctly, it was Ronald Hordijk who translated Scott Draves' original C code into Delphi, to make "Fractal Flame Screensaver". And only then, Mark Townsend made Apophysis using Ronald's renderer code.

"Apophysis has also recently been modified to create fractals that looks like 3D, although all computations are done in 2D space."

This is not correct ofcourse, all computations are done in 3D space :) Apophysis "3D hack" only lacks a proper 3D editor... Zueuk (talk) 05:50, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

3d version verification

I would like to see a disambiguation thread or citation for 'There is a separate version of Apophysis that has support for 3D'. I find various pages with 3d hack resources but no mention of a 3d version on external links. What is the status of 3d hack?
