note
Regarding the statement:
This synthesized DNA is termed "anti-sense" DNA because its base sequence is the opposite of the gene's messenger RNA (so that a segment "AAGGTC" would be blocked by the anti-sense segment "TTCCAG"). These potential therapies have not yet produced significant clinical results.
Since the convention is to write any single nucleic acid strand in 5' to 3' orientation, the segment "AAGGTC" is not complementary to the segment "TTCCAG". Instead, the complement of "AAGGTC" is "GACCTT". It is acceptable to write a single strand in 3' to 5' orientation if it is clearly marked, so I have added orientation marks: "5'-AAGGTC-3'" and "3'-TTCCAG-5'". Keeping the second strand antiparallel with the first strand may make this more understandable to those unused to reading sense and antisense in opposite directions when looking for complementarity.

Merge
I support the merge. ViridaeTalk 07:01, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- As no-one objected, I've merged with Antisense drugs. I've attempted to meld the two wordings, but this isn't my area of expertise so if I've made mistakes please correct them! Espresso Addict 03:32, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
I think the merge will dilute the history and consequence of the technology to mankind! PLEASE DONT
How is Antisense therapy related to RNA interference (RNAi) ? Rod57 (talk) 03:52, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- ... Antisense RNA says it uses single strand RNA whereas RNAi uses double-strand RNA. Rod57 (talk) 08:47, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Antisense RNA
I oppose this propsed merge. Antisense therapy is not a subset of antisense RNA. Many antisense therapies currently under development use DNA-based molecules. The merge was proposed a year ago so I'm deleting the template. Dubbinu | t | c 11:13, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
External links modified
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on Antisense therapy. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20070609104434/http://www.usamriid.army.mil/press%20releases/warfield_press_release.pdf to http://www.usamriid.army.mil/press%20releases/warfield_press_release.pdf
- Added Antisense Therapy Overview
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at Template:Tlx).

Orphaned references in Antisense therapy
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Antisense therapy's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 05:09, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
