Removal of Taney statue
Recently, Template:Yo restored a statement saying there was a statue of Roger B. Taney at the State House from this article, demanding a source for removing it from the article [1]. This is ridiculous, seriously WP:POINTY and specifically called out as WP:TE. Sources are required for adding information to an article or restoring it - per WP:BURDEN, not removing material - especially unsourced, obsolete material.
In case it was in doubt, the removal of this statue garnered extensive international press - from The Economist to Smithsonian Magazine as any cursory search would show. I have reverted this unfortunate edit. Toddst1 (talk) 06:11, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
- My edit summary: <templatestyles src="Template:Blockquote/styles.css" />
Script error: No such module "Check for unknown parameters".First, provide a source, and second, mention it was removed - dont remove mention of it.
- Overreact much? The point was and is, the statue was there much longer than it wasn't. This isn't a GUIDEBOOK. You are obviously aware of the details as you have mentioned several sources. I'm not. How about you take all the sources you found and add the quite encyclopedic information about its removal and treat what we are doing as writing an encyclopedia? Or are you one of those revisionists that thinks American History can be changed by hiding it? I'm done with this discussion, do what you want. I don't have time to deal with angry jerks. Life's too short. John from Idegon (talk) 07:24, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
- Your actions speak for themselves as do mine - no attempt at revisionism on my part - as evidenced the article I recently created: Script error: No such module "WPSHIPS utilities".. No need or place for name-calling either. Toddst1 (talk) 07:32, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
