WP:URFA/2020 and WP:FA concerns

I am reviewing this article as part of WP:URFA/2020, an initiative to improve English Wikipedia's older featured articles. I have some concerns with this article, which I am outlining below:

  • Information has been added to the article since it's FAR that is too detailed for an article of this scope. This includes much of the information about various issues in the "Politics" section, much of the Sports section, the 2010 census data and information in the "Economy" section.
  • The "Infrastructure" suffers from MOS:OVERSECTION.
  • There are several uncited passages throughout the article.

Is anyone interested in fixing up this article on this article? Z1720 (talk) 03:07, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • Started copyediting the article. There would be a lot of summations and adding citations. I do have a concern about the "Politics" section as a lot of it appears to be from recent years. Is there a good way to handle this? PentawingTalk 03:04, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dioxane and groundwater

There is a passage concerning dioxane in the "Utilities" section, but the citation is merely from a county information update that looks like any regular update that a county government would put out for the benefit of residents. Hence, I don't know if this is worthy of being in the article. For now, I have moved the passage in question to the talk page.

  • A plume of the industrial solvent dioxane is migrating under the city from the contaminated Gelman Sciences, Inc. property on the westside of Ann Arbor. It is currently detected at 0.039 ppb.[1] The Gelman plume is a potential threat to one of the City of Ann Arbor's drinking water sources, the Huron River, which flows through downtown Ann Arbor.Script error: No such module "Unsubst".

added this back in last night, forgot to say that here. It's a rather important issue, as it has caused the site of the contamination to be nominated to be an EPA Superfund site at least once. Froglegseternal (talk) 13:02, 8 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Half the "Works cited" aren't

Most of the cites in the "Works cited" section are not cited. Are these supposed to be general refs, further reading, or what? Also we have some shortened refs for Walker and van Zandt that should be in "Works cited" but aren't. GA-RT-22 (talk) 00:15, 9 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

The listed works are a combination of general refs and further reading. I think what happened was the section was once "Further Reading" which someone objected to, but I know several of the refs had been used as citations in general. If you think there is a better title for the section, go ahead with whatever edit is necessary. PentawingTalk 06:39, 9 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

History gap

The City of Ann Arbor Adopted a new City Flag in 2024

The official flag of the City of Ann Arbor includes the following elements: The flag consists of a field of green above a field of blue, bisected into equal parts by a horizontal white stripe. The white stripe is approximately one tenth of the width of the flag (span of the flag parallel to the flagpole). The flag contains an emblem consisting of a burr oak tree set in a white circle. The burr oak tree consists of green foliage and a blue trunk, both colors being the same as the background fields. The diameter of the emblem is approximately 75% of the width of the flag. In the vertical axis, the emblem is centered on the horizontal white stripe. In the horizontal axis, on a flag with a ratio of 3 to 5, the emblem is centered on a point approximately one third of the width from the hoist side (the side nearest the flagpole).[1]https://a2gov.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13400242&GUID=A49B526E-B0DA-4E80-B911-4B2363A11998 198.108.51.181 (talk) 15:39, 25 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

They have a strange definition of "width". It would be nice if they would open source the flag and seal so we could use them. GA-RT-22 (talk) 16:24, 25 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
