I included a photo of the entire dog, head to tail from the side. Also, I think there is an inaccuracy in the history. According to Paul Morrison (source at the bottom of the page--I don't know how to do footnotes), Doc Pfeiffer believed the AWS was the product of Curley Coated retrievers mixed with Field Spaniels. Pfeiffer did not deny the presence of Irish Water Spaniel blood, but he thought it had been added during the 1920s--looking at one of the surviving lines would seem to confirm this.
