Alice In Chains and Alice N’ Chains Are The Same

NEEDS TO BE NOTED: Alice In Chains and Alice N’ Chains are not seperate bands. In 1987, Alice N’ Chains, playing glam metal music, began advertising themselves as Alice In Chains, there is plenty of evidence for this. Therefore, Alice In Chains and Alice N’ Chains should be considered one in the same. Hanoiifan (talk) 19:51, 10 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Are you saying the articles should be merged? – Sparkle and Fade (talkcontributions) 06:38, 11 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yes. The lineup known as Alice N’ Chains on Wikipedia that isn’t noted on the Alice In Chains began using the Alice In Chains name st concerts. They’re the same band they just changed their name. Hanoiifan (talk) 18:07, 19 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Good catch, two articles about the same people. - FlightTime Phone (open channel) 18:36, 19 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't think they should be merged. The original band possibly used AIC as a name briefly, but the main article here clearly separates the two bands:
" The band played a couple of gigs in clubs around the Pacific Northwest, calling themselves different monikers, including Diamond Lie, the name of Cantrell's previous band, and "Fuck", before eventually adopting the name that Staley's previous band had initially flirted with, Alice in Chains. Staley contacted his former bandmates and asked for permission to use the name. Nick Pollock was not particularly thrilled about it at the time, and thought he should come up with a different name; both he and James Bergstrom ultimately gave Staley their blessing to use the name.
