The changes from Alberni to Alberni-Qualicum include:
- Inclusion of Qualicum and other areas to the east
Qualicum is a retiree hot spot. Alberni is a declining resource town.
In 1996 Alberni had a population of 31,652 people.
In 2001 Alberni-Qualicum had a population of 50,695 people.
Alberni-Qualicum lost 0.2% of its population between 1996 and 2001. BC Stats
