Dubious elevation
Currently the info box says
- Lowest elevation (Sea level (at the Hudson River)) 0 ft (0 m)
I'm deleting this because its location on the Hudson River is not at sea level (if it were, the river would not flow to the sea). Hopefully someone can find a source with the correct info (and check if the figure for highest elevation is correct). Loraof (talk) 19:11, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

- I noticed 2 feet as its lowest elevation. The Poughkeepsie article states a zero elevation, so there seems to be a pattern of using the river as a zero datum. 68.196.165.94 (talk) 01:10, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
GA Reassessment
{{Wikipedia:Good article reassessment/Albany, New York/1}}
new york by trenity.
New York was one of the original 13 colonies]. The colony was named after the English duke of York. The nickname Empire State is thought to have come from a remark made by George Washington]. In 1784 he referred to New York as the “seat of empire.” The capital of New York is albany. 2600:1700:6E9C:7000:3802:758F:BF33:9E7B (talk) 16:33, 10 February 2025 (UTC)

American express
new to Wikipedia so please excuse me if this is bad etiquette.
this article says American Express was founded in Albany. but the AmEx Wikipedia page and their website says either NYC or Buffalo depending on what you consider the founding
the sentence re AmEx in this article has a reference but the link takes me to a Google books that isn't viewable / at least it didn't load for me. so it might exist but I couldn't verify that.
so I'm not sure what to do? Feyhop (talk) 22:34, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
