The adjective derived from "Ghana" is "Ghanaian" and not "Ghanian." Hence "Ghanian Sign Language" should be "Ghanaian Sign Language."

Maybe because I'm giving a meaningless answer to a meaningless question? AdaSL is a village sign language of Ghana. There is no way to transform a spoken/written name into AdaSL, except perhaps by fingerspelling, which would not really be AdaSL anyway. — mark ✎ 08:34, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Population claims Comment

Today I noticed a very implausible claim in the top section, and removed it, because there was no citation to support it: "In the past, this percentage is thought to have been as high as 60%." In the published literature I've read about this language, the highest percentage I've ever seen claimed is 11%, back in the 1960s, before the chief instituted a eugenics policy that forbade Deaf people to marry each other. The current edition of Ethnologue cites figures that amount to 1.1%, so I changed that also. (The information that was there before was presumably from an earlier edition of Ethnologue.) Looking at it again, none of the information cited from Ethnologue was cited correctly. It doesn't seem like Ethnologue has anything to add that isn't in the papers by Nyst and others, so I just removed those citations, rather than reporting what Ethnologue says just for the sake of doing so.
