Is Aberavon primarily a constituency, or does the article confuse the history of a constituency with that of a town, village or settlement centre? Should we have a disambig page rather than a redirect? Laurel Bush 10:49, 18 Mar 2005 (UTC).

Doesn't have references, but it does have some information. It does seem to confuse the city and the constituency like the above comment says. Ethan (talk) 22:37, 11 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Government and Politics

I have created a new Aberavon (electoral ward) page to make Aberavon consistent with other wards in Neath Port Talbot. and moved some of the factual info from here to the new page. Intend to summarise history of local politics here if no one objects. Macs15 (talk) 11:12, 17 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pre Norman history

"Little is known about Aberavon before Norman times."

The Aberavon area has a fascinating archeological record stretching back to the Bronze age. In recent years I think there's been some Roman discoveries and it has a well covered history with notable religious figures in the Age of Saints.

I understand that for many Wikipedia editors, Welsh history starts with the conquest but this abridged summary feels more dismissive and ignorant than usual. 80.229.242.178 (talk) 17:50, 12 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
