Hi! I'm posting here on behalf of AARP, a client of Fleishman Hillard, a sibling agency of my employer, Porter Novelli. Requesting one addition to this article, to the end of the "21st century" subsection of "History":

Myechia Minter-Jordan, a public health advocate and physician, was named as the next CEO of the organization in November 2024.[1]

Does AARP allow members to influence lobbying positions?

The article refers to AARP's lobbying work. The article does not describe how AARP collects input from the membership regarding lobbying positions. This is a significant gap in an article about an organization that does lobbying as a major part of its part its activities. Pete unseth (talk) 02:01, 10 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Interesting. The AARP website says nothing about membership input. I just tried a chatbot and got nothing, except that they do not do "lobbying" but "advocacy". It said members can respond to surveys. So, there is nothing to quote saying that members cannot direct the staff about positions to lobby for or against any position. How can I add a piece of text saying that they say nothing?!? Pete unseth (talk) 03:30, 11 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
