Title

What about 2005 European floods? The singular form makes it sound too much like Atlantis, like one huge flood overtook the whole continent.--Pharos 12:29, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

In Romania, there has been widespread media coverage on the effect of the floods, with President Băsescu himself saying that Romania would need to make changes to adapt to the "new global climate". So yes, it's been blamed on global warming mostly. Ronline 08:18, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

Austrian media regularly suggest that we are seeing flooding more often because of global warning. But I don't think this is usually linked to the glaciers. Martg76 15:31, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

Moved to August 2005

I've moved it to August 2005 because this article only talks about that period. Romania (and Bulgaria, and some other countries) faced flooding before that, some of it quite significant, which should be covered in separate articles. Ronline 08:19, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

I agree with whoever moved it back - if there are articles about those other floods then maybe; if there are further major floods this year then maybe... But as it stands keep it where it is. Wangi 09:46, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

Damage estimates

Aren't there any monetary estimates for other countries or the entire event? All I see is 5 million lei unreadable character 1.5 million for Romania which isn't helpful. Rmhermen 17:57, September 1, 2005 (UTC)

The unreadable character is the euro sign. Doesn't come up as the euro sign on your computer? So yeah, the damage is about 1.5 million euro. Ronline 08:09, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

Which river flows through Târgu Mureş?

Someone in the 2005 European floods article said:

The city of Târgu Mureş, an important regional centre, was also affected by the rising of waters on the Târnava river, even though there wasn't a significant amount of damage caused to infrastructure.

Well, Târgu Mureş is located in the valley of the Mureş river, maybe the author would like to say Mureş county, not Târgu Mureş. The Târnava river traverses that county, but I don't know if there was floods or not, so I can not make corrections to the article. So, please, be more punctual.
