Non-information

There are a number of facts that are the equivalent to '20' is the same as '30'.

  1. 40 is the lowest two digit number in base 50. Well of course it is just as 2 is the lowest 2 digit number in binary and 8 is the lowest two digit number in octal. It's part of the definition of a number base.
  2. The basic calculation section is simply reiterating that we use numbers base ten. abc×10=abc0 and abc÷10=abc. Similarly 10n=10...0(n zeroes).
  3. The indexed sequence of triangle numbers is just a statement that our numbers are written using base ten. In octal and hex
    108=448, 1016=8816
    1008=4048, 10016=80816
  4. Age ten is a preteen and a denarian. This is from the definition of these words

Is there any reason not to delete these statements? OrewaTel (talk) 05:26, 14 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Triangular number

In the Mathematics section, should we put "100 is a triangular number (5 + 10 + 30 + 40)"? Jleo22 (talk) 12:26, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
