Should this title be changed to Oofunato, Iwate, to better represent the leading long 'o'? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by William McDuff (talkcontribs) 16:56, March 30, 2005.

The previous spelling was inappropriate. I have changed it to Ōfunato, Iwate. Bendono 12:12, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Was the municipality of Sanriku independent before merging into Ōfunato and when did it occur? jlog3000 (talk) 12:03, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

"Was a city?"

Although the city was pretty much destroyed in the Tsunami isn't it a little hasty to consider that the city will no longer exist after this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.92.230.139 (talk) 22:41, 16 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Other similar pages have taken the decision to stick with the present tense, as the cities still exist although in wrecked form. I'm reverting that. Morag Kerr (talk) 12:51, 17 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Longevity due to a diet based on sea product

I have removed the statement "The people living in this region are known for their longevity due to a diet based on sea products, particularly seaweeds." Without at least a reference, it does not seem to be appropriate. Loadedsalt (talk) 18:17, 18 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
