Should this title be changed to Oofunato, Iwate, to better represent the leading long 'o'? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by William McDuff (talk • contribs) 16:56, March 30, 2005.

The previous spelling was inappropriate. I have changed it to Ōfunato, Iwate. Bendono 12:12, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Was the municipality of Sanriku independent before merging into Ōfunato and when did it occur? jlog3000 (talk) 12:03, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

"Was a city?"

Other similar pages have taken the decision to stick with the present tense, as the cities still exist although in wrecked form. I'm reverting that. Morag Kerr (talk) 12:51, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Longevity due to a diet based on sea product

I have removed the statement "The people living in this region are known for their longevity due to a diet based on sea products, particularly seaweeds." Without at least a reference, it does not seem to be appropriate. Loadedsalt (talk) 18:17, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
