History
The community was named after Charles Statham, a University of Georgia official.[2]
Geography

Education
Barrow County Schools is the sole school district covering the county.[6]
Statham Elementary School is the zoned elementary school,[7] and Bear Creek Middle School is the zoned middle school.[8] Statham Elementary feeds into Winder-Barrow High School.[9]
