Silver Apples of the Moon is the debut studio album by the English band Laika. It was released on 17 October 1994 by Too Pure.[1]
The album's title is derived from American electronic music composer Morton Subotnick's 1967 album of the same name.[2]
Critical reception
Writing on its 2015 reissue for Exclaim!, Daniel Sylvester called Silver Apples of the Moon a "seminal" experimental pop album and "a welcome addition to any adventurous indie rock fan's collection."[3]
Silver Apples of the Moon was ranked at number 16 on FactTemplate:'s 2015 list of the 50 best trip hop albums of all time,[4] and at number 36 on TrebleTemplate:'s 2024 list of the 50 best post-rock albums.[5]
