Rentian (Template:Zh), formerly known as Taiping (Template:Zh), is a town in Shanghang County, Longyan, in southwestern Fujian province, China. The town spans an area of Script error: No such module "convert".,[1] and has a hukou population of 24,985 as of 2018.[2]

Geography

Mineral resources in the town include molybdenum, iron, rare earth elements, manganese, and kaolinite.[1]

Rentian's major crops include pomelo, lemon, and camellia.[1]

Culture

Many of the town's inhabitants are Hakka, with the six prominent Hakka clans in the town being the Liu (Template:Lang-zh), the You (Template:Lang-zh), the Huang (Template:Lang-zh), the Liu (Template:Lang-zh), the Qiu (Template:Lang-zh), and the Chen (Template:Lang-zh).[1]

Transportation

Fujian Provincial Highway 309 runs north to south thru the town.[1]
