Quicksilver was an activity of Mercury Telecommunications Ltd, a company formed by Matthew Hobbs and Mark Frater, both ex-employees of CLEAR Communications.
Quicksilver was sold to Woosh, an Auckland-based wireless ISP in August 2006.
