Firouz (Template:Langx; also spelled Farooz, Firuz, Pirooz, Firoz), Pirouz (Template:Langx, also spelled Pirooz, Piruz, Piroz), Feroz (Hindi/Urdu; also spelled Feroze, Phiroze), Fayrouz (Template:Langx) and Phiroj are masculine given names of Persian origin. It is ultimately derived from Middle Persian Pērōz (Inscriptional Pahlavi: Script error: No such module "Lang"., Book Pahlavi: pyrwc), meaning "victorious, triumphant or prosperous",[1] mentioned as Perozes (Script error: No such module "Lang".) in Latin and Greek sources.
