Perry Township is one of fourteen townships in Clinton County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,494 (up from 1,459 at 2010[1]) and it contained 596 housing units. The township was named for Oliver Hazard Perry, an American naval officer in the War of 1812.[2]
History
The first white settler to arrive in what would become Perry Township was Elijah Rogers who erected a log cabin in 1827. The township was established in September, 1834, created from a portion of Washington Township.[3]
