History

Pachuta was founded in the 1880s, and named after Pachuta Creek.[2]

Geography

Pachuta is located in western Clarke County at Script error: No such module "Coordinates". 2000 census

As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 245 people, 106 households, and 71 families residing in the town. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. There were 106 households, out of which 24.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.1% were married couples living together, 17.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 28.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.81.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 21.6% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females, there were 71.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 67.0 males.
