The racial makeup of the city was 83.62% White, 12.66% African American, 0.74% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.25% from other races, and 2.48% from two or more races. There were 160 households, out of which 32.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.1% were married couples living together, 11.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% were non-families. 23.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
