Accidents and incidents

On May 29, 1965, a Convair 240 JA5088 landed at Obihiro Airport with the right side main landing gear retracted after it failed to lock down; no casualties.

History

The airport opened in March, 1981, initially with a Script error: No such module "convert". runway, taking over the role of the former Obihiro Airport, now Tokachi Airfield. The runway was extended to Template:Cvt in November, 1985.[2]
