Modesto is a village in Macoupin County, Illinois, United States. The population was 182 at the 2020 census,[1] down from 252 in 2000.
Geography
Modesto is located in northern Macoupin County. Illinois Route 111 passes through the village as Main Street, leading north Script error: No such module "convert". to Waverly and south Script error: No such module "convert". to Palmyra. Carlinville, the Macoupin county seat, is Script error: No such module "convert". to the southeast.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Modesto has a total area of Script error: No such module "convert"., all land.[2] The village drains east to an unnamed tributary of Nassa Creek, a southwest-flowing feeder of the Macoupin Creek watershed leading west to the Illinois River.

As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 252 people, 102 households, and 74 families residing in the village. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert"..
