The village likely emerged during the Teutonic Order era (13th–15th centuries) or later, as part of the Duchy of Prussia After World War I,[1] the region became part of East Prussia (Germany) until 1945, when it was transferred to Poland under the Postdam Agreement The village was repopulated by Poles displaced from former eastern territories (modern-day Lithuania/Belarus)
