Melvin is a town in McCulloch County, Texas, United States. Its population was 123 at the 2020 census.

The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen climate classification, Melvin has a humid subtropical climate, Cfa on climate maps.[1]

As of the census[4] of 2000, 155 people, 68 households, and 39 families were residing in the town. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. The 100 housing units averaged 212.4 per square mile (82.1/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 87.10% White, 12.26% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 27.10% of the population.
Of the 68 households, 27.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.5% were married couples living together, 8.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 42.6% were not families. About 38.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 23.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.28, and the average family size was 3.00.
In the town, the age distribution was 24.5% under 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 22.6% who were 65 or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females, there were 93.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.0 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $14,107, and for a family was $17,386. Males had a median income of $20,625 versus $21,875 for females. The per capita income for the town was $11,124. Education
The Melvin Independent School District was closed in summer 1971 and its responsibilities were taken over by the Brady Independent School District.
