McKean is a borough in Erie County, Pennsylvania. The population was 475 at the time of the 2020 census.[1] It is part of the Erie–Meadville combined statistical area. McKean was known as "Middleboro" until it officially changed its name in 1970.[2]
Geography

As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 389 people, 150 households, and 100 families residing in the borough. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. The racial makeup of the borough was 99.49% White, 0.26% African American, and 0.26% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.51% of the population.
There were 150 households, out of which 38.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.3% were married couples living together, 12.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 26.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.17.
In the borough the population was spread out, with 28.0% under the age of 18, 10.3% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 23.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
