Template:Short description Template:Use mdy dates There are currently 427 American colleges and universities classified as Division III for NCAA competition, making it the largest division in the NCAA by school count. Schools from 34 of the 50 states and the District of Columbia are represented.
All schools do not provide athletic scholarships to students.
Conference affiliations listed in this table are primary affiliations as of the current 2025–26 school year. Many schools will house some sports in other conferences if their primary leagues do not sponsor a given sport.
