He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Art Direction for the film Our Town.[1] In the mid and late 1940s, he produced several of William Boyd's popular Hopalong Cassidy B-Westerns.Script error: No such module "Unsubst". In 1959, he was producer of Men into Space,Script error: No such module "Unsubst". a one-season CBS TV series that tried to give a serious science fiction preview of where the then-new American space program seemed to be heading.
