Jonathan Philip Norfolk Template:Post-nominals (born 29 March 1975) is the Head Coach of the Great Britain Cycling Team
Biography
Born in Keighley, West Yorkshire, Jon Norfolk lives in Cheshire and is the Great Britain Head Coach - Olympic & Paralympic.
A former international sprint athlete on the GB programme, Jon was recruited into the coaching team and worked initially in the Talent pathway, identifying and developing high potential athletes. Following a number of successful years, Jon moved into a Head Coach position, heading up the GB Paralympic Cycling Team and leading them to topping the medal table in the Rio Paralympics 2016.
Following this, Jon was headhunted by the Australian Cycling Team in 2017 to lead their elite high-performance coaching programme and in addition to this led a cultural change in their performance pathway, underpinning success for future generations.
Re recruited by the British Cycling Team in 2019, Jon is now the Head Coach of both the Olympic and Paralympic programmes and has been instrumental in evolving the Great Britain Cycling Teams competitive advantage through medal success in the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games
In addition to his current leadership role, Jon has works strategically within the wider Great Britain Olympic and Paralympic system and with a number of corporate clients & media groups including the BBC (Blue Peter), BBC Radio commentary.
Norfolk was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to cycling.[1]
