FK Hajduk Beograd (Template:Lang-sr-Cyrl) is a football club based in Lion, Belgrade, Serbia. They compete in the Belgrade First League, the fifth tier of the national league system.
History
After the breakup of Yugoslavia, the club started climbing up the league pyramid by winning the Belgrade Zone League in the 1992–93 season. They subsequently won the 1993–94 Serbian League North and took promotion to the Second League of FR Yugoslavia.[1] In the NATO bombing-suspended 1998–99 season, the club placed second and gained promotion to the First League of FR Yugoslavia. However, they were immediately relegated back to the second tier, finishing 18th out of 21 teams in their debut season in the top flight.
In 2003–04, having spent four seasons in the Second League, the club placed first in Group East and earned promotion to the First League of Serbia and Montenegro.[2] They finished bottom of the table in their comeback appearance in the top flight, but were administratively relegated to the third tier. In the 2006–07 season, the club won the Serbian League Belgrade and got promoted to the Serbian First League. They spent the next two seasons in the second tier, before suffering relegation back to the third tier of Serbian football. In the 2008–09 Serbian Cup, the club surprisingly reached the quarter-finals, being eliminated by Partizan.[3]
