"Destin" (meaning "destiny") is a song by Canadian singer Celine Dion from her thirteenth studio album, D'eux (1995). It was written by Jean-Jacques Goldman and produced by Goldman and Erick Benzi. Despite not being released as a single, "Destin" was very popular on the radio in Quebec. It entered the chart in January 1996 and peaked at number three.

Background and release

Dion recorded D'eux in November and December 1994 in the Méga Studio in Paris, France.[1] Most songs were written by Jean-Jacques Goldman, while the production was handled by Goldman and Erick Benzi.[2] "Destin", written by Goldman, became very popular on the radio in Quebec in early 1996, despite not being released as a single. Dion also often performed it during her concerts.[3] In 2005, the song was included on her greatest hits album, On ne change pas.[4]

Commercial performance

"Destin" entered the airplay chart in Quebec on 20 January 1996 and peaked at number three.[5] It stayed 37 weeks on the chart in total.[6]
