Coffee Creek is a census-designated place located within Trinity County in the U.S. state of California.[1] It is located just north of where Coffee Creek flows into the Trinity River along Highway 3 and is the most northern community in Trinity County. It contains the Coffee Creek elementary school. Coffee Creek Road originates at Highway 3 offering access to the interior of the Trinity Alps; the road is 20 miles long, dirt and only for high clearance vehicles. Coffee Creek sits at an elevation of Script error: No such module "convert"..[1] Its population is 152 as of the 2020 census, down from 217 from the 2010 census.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP covers an area of 11.5 square miles (29.9 km2), 99.84% of it land and 0.16% of it water.

The 2020 United States census reported that Coffee Creek had a population of 152. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. The racial makeup of Coffee Creek was 130 (85.5%) White, 0 (0.0%) African American, 2 (1.3%) Native American, 2 (1.3%) Asian, 0 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 1 (0.7%) from other races, and 17 (11.2%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 12 persons (7.9%).[18]

The census reported that 151 people (99.3% of the population) lived in households, 1 (0.7%) lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and no one was institutionalized.[18]

There were 61 households, out of which 11 (18.0%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 29 (47.5%) were married-couple households, 3 (4.9%) were cohabiting couple households, 11 (18.0%) had a female householder with no partner present, and 18 (29.5%) had a male householder with no partner present. 17 households (27.9%) were one person, and 9 (14.8%) were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.48.[18] There were 40 families (65.6% of all households).[19]

The age distribution was 23 people (15.1%) under the age of 18, 8 people (5.3%) aged 18 to 24, 22 people (14.5%) aged 25 to 44, 51 people (33.6%) aged 45 to 64, and 48 people (31.6%) who were 65Script error: No such module "String".years of age or older. The median age was 58.3Script error: No such module "String".years. There were 69 males and 83 females.[18]

There were 133 housing units at an average density of Script error: No such module "convert"., of which 61 (45.9%) were occupied. Of these, 49 (80.3%) were owner-occupied, and 12 (19.7%) were occupied by renters.[18]
