Hello all. I just noticed that some of the mathematicians are alphabetized incorrectly: Arenstorf and Moore are both under 'R'; James Cooley is under 'J'. It's clear that they're being indexed by their first names instead of their surnames, but how does this happen and how does one fix it?

(Several weeks later...) OK, I've got it; the category links are in the individual articles. I've fixed the ones for this category that were still wrong.

Great, thanks! --C S (Talk) 16:37, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I would like to know what criterion is used to qualify a mathematician an "american mathematician". To be more precise why is Israel Gelfond or Galambos an "american mathematician" ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.21.18.153 (talk) 16:07, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ok. When I click on Gábor Szegő it says explicitly that he was an Hungarian mathematician. It seems that this is merely a list of people who taught at an American university. If so, the name of the list should be changed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.21.18.153 (talk) 16:11, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
