The acronym USISL at various times stood for United States Interregional Soccer League, United States International Soccer League and United Systems of Independent Soccer Leagues. It was renamed from SISL ("Southwest Indoor Soccer League", "Sunbelt Independent Soccer League", and "Southwest Independent Soccer League").
