Inclusion in this group may be determined by a number of reasons. For biographies, it may include subjects who have generally participated in an Idol series and as a result came out as having some notability in the media. Really, it depends. It is by no means a ranking of Idols or Idols shows by personal taste, likability, or place in competition. Currently, inclusion in this group for AI contestants was based on #10-15 in American Idol#Top Selling American Idol Alumni - subjects with at least 100,000 sales and RIAA uncertified. Other country's shows will vary.
