42 of the largest objects in the asteroid belt

If possible, asteroids should always be placed into one of the numerous sub-categories, in line with the category information given in the minor-planet catalog. Used sources: Small Body Data Ferret (Nesvorný) and AstDys (Milani and Knežević).

Examples

Template:Cat more All asteroids should be sorted using a 0-padded, 6-digit sortkey based on their numerical designation. Otherwise, their provisional designation should be used. For example:

 • Family asteroid 1270 Datura would use Script error: No such module "Check for unknown parameters"..
 • Family asteroid without proper category, 3156 Ellington, would use Script error: No such module "Check for unknown parameters"..
 • Non-family asteroid 4881 Robmackintosh would use Script error: No such module "Check for unknown parameters"..
 • Unnumbered asteroid 2004 BX159 (undetermined family) would simply use Script error: No such module "Check for unknown parameters"..
