American pimps (procurers), male agents for prostitutes who collect part of their earnings. The procurer may receive this money in return for advertising services, physical protection, or for providing and possibly monopolizing a location where the prostitute may solicit clients.
This category includes American slave traders who were specifically known for selling people described as "fancy girls" or "fancy boys," intended for sexual exploitation.
