Geography
Cashmere is bounded to the north by Lake Samsonvale (Script error: No such module "Coordinates".). It is a reservoir created by the North Pine Dam, which impounds the North Pine River.[3]

History
The origin of the suburb name is from an early property owner by the name of James Cash.[4]
