Hearst (René Fontaine) Municipal Airport (Aéroport municipale de Hearst Municipal Airport) (Template:Comma separated entries) is located Template:Convert northwest of Hearst, Ontario, Canada. It is named after former mayor and provincial cabinet member René Fontaine.
The airport is owned by the Town of Hearst and day-to-day operations managed by Commercial Aviation since the 1980s.[1]
Operations
Traffic at the airport consists of cargo and general aviation flights, including air ambulance and wildland firefighting operations. It can handle aircraft up to the Dash 8 in size.[2]
Facilities
The airport has a few structures, namely a small shed, hangar and terminal building.
There are four helipads located on the northwest side of the apron, adjacent to the terminal.[2]
Ground transportation
The airport is accessible by car only. Airport Road provides access to the airport and connects to Highway 11/Trans Canada Highway via Fontaine Drive. A small parking lot is located next to the terminal building.
