Brinson is a town in Decatur County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 217, up from 215 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bainbridge, Georgia Micropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Variant names were "Mount Zion and "Spring Creek.[1] Simeon Brinson, an early postmaster and first mayor, gave the town its present name.[1] The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the place as the "Town of Brinson" in 1907.[2]
Agriculture predominates in the area. According to one compilation, three of the top ten recipients of U.S. farm subsidies are in Brinson.[3]
Geography
Brinson is located in northwestern Decatur County at Script error: No such module "Coordinates".
