Baylis is a village in New Salem Township, Pike County, Illinois, United States. The population was 172 at the 2020 census.

As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 265 people, 91 households, and 70 families residing in the village. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. There were 91 households, out of which 44.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.5% were married couples living together, 12.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.0% were non-families. 20.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.37.
