The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. The population was 2,383 as of the 2020 United States census.[2]

2020 census

The 2020 United States census reported that Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley had a population of 2,383. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. The racial makeup of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley was 72.2% White, 0.8% African American, 1.3% Native American, 1.8% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 11.8% from other races, and 12.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 22.9% of the population.

The census reported that 99.5% of the population lived in households, 0.5% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and no one was institutionalized.

There were 903 households, out of which 24.0% included children under the age of 18, 54.2% were married-couple households, 6.9% were cohabiting couple households, 24.5% had a female householder with no partner present, and 14.5% had a male householder with no partner present. 20.3% of households were one person, and 13.0% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.63. There were 635 families (70.3% of all households).

The age distribution was 14.7% under the age of 18, 8.1% aged 18 to 24, 19.9% aged 25 to 44, 30.3% aged 45 to 64, and 26.9% who were 65Script error: No such module "String".years of age or older.
