Addison Township is one of nine townships in DuPage County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 88,351 and it contained 32,306 housing units.[1]

Geography

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Addison Township has a total area of Script error: No such module "convert"., of which Script error: No such module "convert". (or 98.02%) is land and Script error: No such module "convert". (or 1.98%) is water.[2]

The township has recently undergone many changes including a complete renovation of its west end connected to Lake St. Many new stores and services were opened.Script error: No such module "Unsubst".

The south west edge of O'Hare in the city of Chicago shown on the map in beige is a separate entity comprising a portion of O'Hare International Airport, and is not part of this township.

The township contains these eight cemeteries: Arlington, Churchville, Elm Lawn, Fredens, Mount Emblem, Pet Haven, Saint Pauls Addison and Zion.

A former cemetery, St. Johannes also existed, but in 2010 the graves were disinterred and relocated in order to build a new runway for O'Hare Airport.

Demographics

As of the 2020 census[1] there were 88,351 people, 31,942 households, and 23,133 families residing in the township. The population density was Script error: No such module "convert".. The racial makeup of the township was 58.01% White, 2.57% African American, 1.39% Native American, 6.98% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 17.16% from other races, and 13.87% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 36.15% of the population.

There were 31,942 households, out of which 32.80% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.08% were married couples living together, 12.06% had a female householder with no spouse present, and 27.58% were non-families. 22.20% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.00% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.27.

The township's age distribution consisted of 22.1% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 25.1% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39.6 years. For every 100 females, there were 99.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.6 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $77,130, and the median income for a family was $89,211. Males had a median income of $45,931 versus $33,272 for females. The per capita income for the township was $35,164. About 6.2% of families and 8.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 14.8% of those under age 18 and 7.5% of those age 65 or over. <templatestyles src="US Census population/styles.css"/>
